To avoid feeling blue (and tired of cold and dark winter)
For our new topic “Conversing with the Earth” I decided to work on the 4 seasons, not representatively but atmosphere like. The first one is chronologically spring, and just as well, since we were in the middle of spring when I started. I could watch the buds burst and then the leaves, marveling at all the different greens. I call them “salad green” and it's true, I could eat these fresh leaves for breakfast!
I used a whole cloth piece for the view out of the window and pieces of dyed or printed vintage cottons for the surrounding (plus a couple of pieces of commercial cotton)
For the quilting, I opted for curved lines (the stems) and circles (the flower hearts)
