As a visual art teacher Julie slipped easily into the art textiles, combining her love of sewing with creative art materials and design. She is an Australian quilt maker living in Adelaide South Australia and with her husband have managed a teaching/pattern design website called Haddrick on Fabric. A painting and drawing background is evident in her style of expression in fabric. Active now in textiles for over 25 years she enjoys exhibiting and teaching.
