LIGHT - Day and Night

Updated: 2 days ago

In the final piece of the series, Light – Day and Night, I explore the dynamic cycle of light. This textile collage reflects the interplay between sunlight and moonlight through thoughtful variations in color and value, presenting a visual contrast between the warmth of day and the coolness of night.

The process:

My process is an immersive journey of experimentation and discovery. I begin by hand-dyeing fabrics and gathering commercial scraps, allowing their raw textures and vibrant hues to spark inspiration. With these materials in hand, I engage in a meticulous yet organic process of cutting, layering, and collaging. Each step is a deliberate exploration of color, texture, and form, mirroring the natural cycles I seek to represent.

The raw edges and varied finishes remind viewers of nature's inherent unpredictability, inviting them to look deeper and appreciate the subtle interplay beneath the surface.
