This piece is inspired by the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia designed by Antoni Gaudi. I had been there many years ago before the windows were installed. When I was able to visit again in 2021, I was amazed by many aspects of the building, but most impressed by the windows and the color and mood they create in the space.
Gothic style windows would typically have the lighter glass at the bottom to offset shade and less light from outside. Gaudi designed the windows to be lighter and even transparent at the top to let the light in and illuminate the golden vaults of the nave.
