Working on the next challenge

The next challenge we are facing is to make a piece on the theme "Doors and Windows".

I decided to make a door-door, without any twists and turns.

As I worked on it, it acquired an identity of its own and an old, solid, reliable door emerged. I decided to call it The Guardian.

The process began by dyeing fabric

Then I did some piecing, something I haven't done for a while.

Then I took up my current technique, raw edge appliqué.

It is almost finished now, just some more quilting and waiting for reveal day!
